Covid 19: Mass attendance
As there are no longer any restrictions we welcome back all those returning to Mass. Stewards are trying to follow guidelines by keeping windows and doors open to allow for air flow. Naturally, on cold days we have the comfort of everyone to consider and so some variance of this may occur. Please bear with us. If you have concerns please contact a steward.

Welcome to the parish of
St Lawrence in Chipping Sodbury and our sister church of St Paul’s in Yate
We hope through these pages to introduce you to our very lively and diverse community. Including naturally the Parish Priest and his dedicated pastoral team. The parish is unusual in that the actual parish church building is a small chapel off the high street of Chipping Sodbury and is one of the oldest free-standing churches in the diocese. It was founded in 1838 only nine years after the act of emancipation. Needless to say we are very much looking forward to celebrating our bi-centennial in 2038!
The larger building of St Paul’s in Yate became necessary as the population grew around Bristol and indeed the area is once again the site of huge housing developments. The mission here is ever more important as numbers grow again.
We are also proud of our Catholic Primary School which is next to our church in Yate. You can learn more about our outstanding school in the pages following.
